Outdoor adventures
Hiking
A couple of hours, a full day out, the choice is wide! The sea is never far and it just takes a few hundred meters up the hill to enjoy stunning views on the Big Blue.
I have created a wide range of hiking trails, suitable for all abilities and affinities.
I am as well happy to tag along as a guide. A great opportunity for me to share with you my love and interest for this beautiful island and its geography!

Trail running
Let's say it, Crete is the trail runners' paradise that hasn't been discovered yet!
There is a combination of three essential things to a fond mountain runner : a famous secular healthy cuisine full of flavours, all difficulty levels and type of terrains to play with and a wonderful sea to stretch the muscles after a good run.
Being myself a long-time trail runner, I've explored the surrounding and gathered the best tracks to run around the house.
By booking a trail with me, you'll get a comprehensive cue card with all details about the route and directions and an assistance by phone during all your route.

Snorkelling
Snorkelling is a respectful and relaxing approach of the marine life. If you haven't tried yet, you may take an introductive lesson with
me.
With simple technics and some proper equipment, you will soon become a fond snorkeler.
It doesn't take to be a good swimmer to go snorkelling. The Mediterranean sea will keep you afloat and your flippers, mask and snorkel will allow you to wander with the minimum effort.
The introduction takes place just around the corner, at one of the most beautiful Cretan beaches, Vulisma.
Scuba diving
Scuba diving is one of the most incredible experiences in a lifetime. It WON'T leave you indifferent.

Cultural adventures
Antic sites
Crete offers you thousands years of History on opencast sites chosen by our ancestors with very often the most stunning views. Archaeological schools continuously work to "dig out the past" on the sites and you will enjoy strolling amongst this old stones and listening to the thousands stories they whisper at you.
As for the rest of the outings, you'll find documentation at the guesthouse and our friendly recommendations toward some of the best local sites.

Monasteries
Once here, you will have soon noticed the omnipresent Orthodox buildings: exvotos, chapels, churches and monasteries are scattered all over the island with sometimes very bright colours.
It is always possible to push a door and admire one of the beautiful byzantine decorations or simply pay your respects: most of them are left accessible and open to the public.
Monasteries are lively places, where monks or nuns are busy maintaining the premises, cultivating the lands or crafting goodies. You will enjoy the blossoming and shady courtyards during a hot summer day.
Monasteries are free for most of them. It is always well appreciated to leave a donation or to buy one of the home made products.
Boat trips
Once you've started to explore the coastline from the road, it will become very tempting to jump on a boat.
We can arrange for you some boat trips in the area with local and man-sized companies who work in respect with the environment.

Families with young children
If you are coming with a tribe composed of adults and children, we have an activity kit that should allow your little ones to have an instructive and fun stay in Crete.
The kit is made of discovery cards (all connected to a historical or natural site selected amongst the best local places to see) and help keeping children active whilst looking for clues and fulfilling missions.
By the end of each day, there is an additional craft activity for each card that they will be able to gather on a memory book, possibly completed later by some of their favourite pictures.
